What’s new in Shopify

If you attach a metaobject to a product, variant, customer, or order through a metafield, those fields can now be used in Analytics. A designer country, a warranty term, or a loyalty tier can group and filter a report the same way a custom metafield can.

Merchant-owned metaobjects are already enabled. You can turn a definition off if you don't want it in reports.

What you can do
- Open a report and pick fields under Metaobjects, then the resource, the definition, and the field. For example, Designer, then Country.
- Filter to a single value, like a designer in Italy.
- Use the same fields in the query editor.
- Turn a definition on or off in Settings > Metafields and metaobjects. Open the metaobject and use Filter or group data in Analytics.

What stays the same
- Your metaobjects, and the metafields that point to them, are unchanged.
- Custom metafields and category metafields stay in the picker, in their own groups.
- Metaobjects created by an app stay off until you or the app turn Analytics on for that definition.
