Translate & Adapt EU Update: Auto-sync translations for up to 8 languages
For EU merchants in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom, we've added automatic translation updates to Translate & Adapt. Until now, editing a product description or any other store content meant going back into the app to re-translate it yourself. As a result, translated storefronts fell behind and buyers landed on outdated content in their language. Now you can turn on Auto-sync for any published language, and Shopify will translate new and updated content automatically each week. We've also raised the number of languages Shopify can translate for you from 2 to 8. As usual, translations you wrote manually are never overwritten. Auto-sync is off by default; to turn it on, open Translate & Adapt, select a language, and enable Auto-sync using the toggle. You can turn it on or off per language at any time. The Auto-translate button is now called Translate now, for when you want to translate content immediately instead of waiting for the next sync. Using either Auto-sync or Translate now, or both, for a language will contribute to 1 of your 8 language slots.
