What’s new in Shopify
Staff attribution improvements in POS
We’re improving staff attribution over the next two updates, so it’s easier to credit the right team member for every sale.
Staff attribution in Shopify POS is now automatically enabled for stores that haven’t configured it, so every sale is credited to the team member who made it without any extra steps at checkout. Store managers and store owners can track commission, measure performance, and see who sold what across their team.
What’s new in POS v11.9
A faster way to attribute staff
We’ve redesigned the staff picker to make manual attribution quicker, especially on long staff rosters. A new selection tile, better search, and an improved view surface the most relevant staff first.
Additional reporting
New Staff Attribution reports in POS Analytics, alongside the existing Staff at Register report, so you can see communion and performance data directly in POS.
Automatic attribution, on by default starting July 6
Sales are automatically attributed to the staff member who’s pinned in, no extra taps required. We’ll turn this on for eligible shops that haven’t customized their attribution settings. There is no impact to existing setups.
Staff attribution no longer appears on each line item by default. To see or change who’s credited on a sale, tap the line item and select Attribute staff in the cart tray.
Attribution settings can be adjusted anytime in the POS sales channel. Learn more about staff attribution in the Help Center.
