What’s new in Shopify

Shopify POS can now identify a product variant using any barcode associated with it, making it easier for staff to find the right product when items have different barcodes across suppliers, channels, or packaging.

What’s new?
Staff can now scan or search for a product variant using any of its associated barcodes, including identifiers such as GTIN, EAN, ASIN, or SKU-based codes. Regardless of which associated barcode is used, Shopify POS will pull up the correct variant.

This reduces the need to manually look up products when the barcode on an item differs from the primary barcode your store typically uses, helping staff find the right item faster during checkout, receiving, and inventory tasks.

This update is automatically available in Shopify POS v11.14. Additional barcodes must first be associated with the product variant in Shopify Admin.
