What’s new in Shopify

Merchants can now add structured product disclosures directly in Shopify admin instead of storing warnings in product descriptions, theme code, or custom workarounds.

Product disclosures are stored as product metafields and support built-in disclosure types for California Proposition 65 warnings and choking-hazard notices, plus custom disclosure types for other product-specific warnings or notices.

On supported Online Store themes, populated disclosures display on the product detail page in a new Disclosures section. Custom storefronts and unsupported themes can access the disclosure metafields and render them manually.

Merchants are responsible for determining when disclosures are required and entering appropriate disclosure content.
