New app-added annotations on your analytics charts
Apps can now add business context directly to your analytics charts with annotations.
Annotations mark important events on a specific date or date range, such as a product launch, collection launch, marketing campaign, discount, checkout offer, supplier change, landing page launch, payment method change, popup store, market launch, program change, or business milestone.
When an app adds an annotation, we will display their name and icon alongside it. This helps you understand where the context came from while reviewing your reports.
Use annotations to compare what happened in your business with changes in your analytics data, including some of your favorite metrics such as sales, sessions, conversion rate, average order value, units sold, or fulfillment performance.
For example, you can review whether sales changed during a campaign, conversion values changed after a landing page launch, average order value changed during a discount, or fulfillment metrics changed after a supplier or warehouse update.
Annotations don't change your report data. They add context to help you understand what might have influenced trends or changes.
