What’s new in Shopify
Manage all your POS settings in one place with the new POS Editor
No more hopping between settings pages. The new POS Editor brings payments, receipts, tips, customer info, and apps into a single, familiar editor with a cleaner layout and faster navigation.
What's changing:
- One editor, one navigation. Payments, offline payments, local payment methods, app extensions, customer info, and receipt settings now live alongside Smart grid, Lock screen, Customer display, and Receipts - all in the POS Editor.
- Cleaner payments experience. Turn a payment method on or off with a visibility toggle right where you're designing the checkout. Shop Pay, Tap to Pay, and local payment methods display their setup status inline; entity-level settings deep-link to the right admin surface.
- Global settings, surfaced. Staff attribution, required checkout information, and customer receipt selection are grouped under a Global settings section for faster access.
- Updated app management. Enabling an app in the editor now activates its POS block and action extensions in one step - no second trip to settings.
- New split-panel navigation. The editor uses the same layout as the Online Store editor, so changes you make in a sub-panel stay in context with what you're previewing.
What you need to do:
Nothing! The updated editor rolls out automatically over the coming weeks. Existing permissions still apply. Staff who can manage payment providers or POS settings today will see the new editor with the same access.
