Annotations bring store event context directly to your analytics
We now visually display annotations with color-coded markers that show when store events happened alongside your data.
Say your conversion rate drops on a Tuesday. Instead of wondering what happened, you hover over an annotation marker and see that a new theme was published that same day. Click it to open the annotation panel, which shows a full daily breakdown with every product published, every app installed, every event that might explain what you're seeing.
To get started, open any report, turn on Show annotations in the Visualization panel, and markers appear on your chart immediately. You can filter down to specific event types like just product publishes or just system events from the annotation panel. Use the arrow buttons to navigate between days and spot patterns across time.
Annotations cover three categories today:
- Product events (published, unpublished)
- Store changes (theme published, app installed, app uninstalled)
- System events (data delays, metric definition changes).
Product annotations are ranked by revenue, so your highest-impact events always surface first.
Annotations are generated from your store activity which means no setup & nothing to configure.
